A new Docketing Assistant Update has been released.
This update provides application-specific action lists for supported countries.
This allows for easier selection of relevant actions, as the actions displayed are pulled directly from the relevant Patent Office. If an action is not listed, a dropdown providing all actions for the selected country is provided.
The tool allows a user to select from four email purposes:
- Acknowledgement of instructions received
- Report Actions taken by PTO
- Report Actions taken in PTO (by Applicant)
- Reminders for previously reported items
- And an "Other" catch-all for anything that doesn't fit well into the above categories.
Once a purpose is selected, then a box to gather some further information appears. Things like type of communication/action, due dates and instruction due dates are collected.
Finally, any documents to be attached to the email should be identified and associated with their respective actions.
All of this allows for fast, efficient and high quality recording of the information being communicated. Feedback is always welcome. Thank you for being a part of this advancement in IP legal communication!
